Fresh Hop NZ 2015 has now been and gone and was thoroughly enjoyed by all concerned. Ten different beers brewed by 14 local brewers and not a bad one amongst them. This is an excellent event that brings some interest, excitement and variety into the craft beer market and I’m looking forward to Fresh Hop NZ 2016.
Another thing I’m looking forward to in the launch of our new ale, Black Sands New Zealand Pale Ale.
It’s a 5% abv pale ale made from a base of pale ale and Munich malts. This gives a delicate orangey hue, a crisp white head and a rich biscuit taste which provides a full bodied platform for the Pacifica and Motueka hops. With lemon/lime and orange marmalade notes, combined with layers of tropical fruit and a subtle floral fragrance, this is a beer that can be enjoyed at any time.
With the weather cooling down it’s also time to start looking out for those delicious dark winter ales.
